“Schools have the power to dramatically change life outcomes for the next generation. I am driven to create a school that harnesses the innate power of the community and gives students the tools they need to thrive.”
Jocelyn Alter has a decade of education leadership experience, a deep commitment to partnering with families and the community, and a clear vision for how school can be done differently to help students be poised for success. “Our communities have inherent strengths – dreams families have for their children, knowledge that neighbors have about a collective history, and clarity on what we need to set our students up for success.”
Most recently, Jocelyn was the Chief Academic Officer at The Kindezi Schools in Atlanta where she managed three school principals and the central teams supporting instruction, education support services, and social-emotional learning across the network. Previously she served as a Partner at TNTP and spent seven years working in education and non-profits including as Chief of Staff for the Division of Academics, Performance, and Support at the NYC Department of Education. Jocelyn received her Master’s in Public Administration from New York University and holds a Bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York at Brockport.
