Lauren Lewis

Flexibility in design, frequent teacher feedback, data-driven instruction, and a relentless focus on academic achievement – these are some of the hallmarks of the school Lauren Lewis will open in San Antonio. “I envision a school that provides rigorous education and co-curricular programming to close the achievement gap and provide opportunities to students in high-poverty neighborhoods.”

Lauren began her career in education as a music teacher in San Antonio and went on to teach third and fourth grade classrooms in New York City. Most recently, she served as Principal, the instructional and operational leader of the St. Eugene School, a PreK3 through eighth grade school in Yonkers, New York. Lauren is driven to design, found, and lead a charter school following reflection on her own public education and observations of the sacrifices that some parents are forced to make to give their children a good education. “As a school leader I am driven by difficult, transformative work that empowers students. No one deserves a lack of education because of the zip code into which they were born.”

Lauren holds a Bachelor of Music from the University of Texas, San Antonio, and a Master of Science in Education (both Curriculum and Teaching, and Administration and Supervision) from Fordham University.
