“Throughout the last six years I’ve spent in Memphis, I have heard countless stories from students and families of how a quality education has changed their lives. It is these stories, and the passion Memphians have for our city, that is driving me to found a school in the heart of Memphis.”
Luke Savidge started his career in education as a resident eleventh-grade English teacher at Kingsbury High School with the Memphis Teacher Residency. He continued as a Mentor Teacher with the Residency, modeling teaching strategies, providing constructive feedback, and working cooperatively with resident teachers. He was a seventh-grade English teacher and the peer-selected Department Chair at Sherwood Middle School. Most recently, Luke served as the Instructional Coach at Westside Middle School, a 6-8 charter school in north Memphis. Luke was a 2018 Summer Leader with BES, an experience that helped him strengthen his leadership skills and inspired him to take on the work of founding a school through the BES Fellowship.
Luke received his Bachelor’s degree in Religion from Arizona Christian University, a Master’s in Urban Education from Union University, and the degree of Educational Specialist in Educational Leadership from Arkansas State University.
