With more than a decade of experience in schools and education organizations across Boston, Elysa Severinghaus (she/her/hers) brings a multi-faceted perspective to her work at BES. Most recently, Elysa led EdNavigator’s work in Boston, growing the region from supporting 80 families in navigating their kids’ K-12 education to more than 400, and from one organizational partner to 10. Elysa started her career in education as a tutor at Match Charter High School in Boston and subsequently served as a member of the founding team at KIPP Academy Boston Middle School. At KIPP Boston, she built the English language education program and taught fifth and sixth grade. Following her classroom experience, she worked at Empower Schools, supporting district education leaders in developing systems of highly autonomous and accountable district schools. Elysa holds a BA from Dartmouth College and speaks Spanish and French.
