Kathleen Villavicencio

Kathleen (Kathy) Villavicencio (she/her/hers) is the Associate Director of Strategy & Development at BES where she is responsible for ensuring relationships are effectively managed in service of expanding the organization’s impact and reach. Prior to joining BES, Kathy led the Office of Strategy Management for the tenth largest school district in the nation. During her three-year tenure, she spearheaded several districtwide initiatives and served as a member of the Superintendent’s Executive Cabinet.

As a first-generation college graduate, Kathy’s commitment to the success of young people began over 15 years ago as a New York City Teaching Fellow. She has also held leadership positions at Miami Dade College, TNTP, The Children’s Trust, and the United Way of Miami-Dade. In addition, she was a member of the 2018-2020 cohort of The Broad Residency in Urban Education, a highly selective management development program for talented professionals.

Kathy received a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from The Broad Center along with a Master of Arts in Education from the University of Texas at Austin and a Master of Science in Teaching from Pace University. She also received a Bachelor of Arts in Biological Sciences from Cornell University. Kathy lives in Miami, Florida with her husband, Jorge, and her daughter, Paloma.
