Linda Brown is the Founder of BES. From the organization’s inception in 1993, Linda’s advocacy and tireless work has been critical to the initial and sustained success of over 75 BES schools across the country, including multiple charter schools that have earned national recognition due to outstanding student achievement results. Linda conceptualizes, concretizes, and executes the strategic vision for BES. This vision has profoundly improved the lives of tens of thousands of children by providing access to high-performing, college-preparatory schools. Linda was inducted into the Public Charter Schools Hall of Fame in recognition of her work as a seminal education reform pioneer. Before founding BES, Linda was Associate Head of School at an independent school in Massachusetts. She received a Bachelor of Arts in English from Boston University.
