Build Track, Character & Equity Fellow

Phoenix, Arizona

“I joined the BES Fellowship because every student deserves a relevant education that prepares them to lead their most epic life while discovering their leadership, pursuing their passion, and being a difference maker in the world.”

For over 30 years in education, Tammy Quist has been guided by one unwavering belief: every child deserves a transformational learning experience that cultivates their agency and prepares them to shape the future. From teaching middle school in rural California to leading a 2,000-student high school in Colorado to consulting nationwide on effective leadership practices, she has made it her mission to redesign systems in service of opportunity for all students.

Tammy is a servant leader, strategist, and systems-thinker who is not afraid to challenge the status quo. As a member of the Florence Unified School Board, educational consultant, and lifelong advocate, she brings deep experience and fierce commitment to building a school where students don’t just succeed—they thrive, lead, and transform their world.

As the CEO of Change Agent, Inc., Tammy provided transformational leadership coaching and strategic support to schools and districts in Arizona and across the country. She has spent over three decades in educational leadership and consulting roles such as School Improvement Coordinator, Restructuring Coordinator, Principal, Adjunct Professor, and Teacher.

Tammy holds a Master’s degree in Secondary School Leadership from Northern State University and a Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education and Political Science from the University of Minnesota, Morris. She is currently completing her PhD in Educational Leadership from North Central University.
