As we prepare to kick off the 2027 BES Fellowship cycle and continue accepting applications for open spots in Alabama and Atlanta, we invite aspiring school founders to join us for a special virtual open house on October 23. Learn more about these opportunities, get tips for strengthening your application, and find out how you can receive early consideration in our priority regions.
This event is designed to give prospective candidates an inside look at the BES Fellowship experience. You’ll hear directly from current BES Fellows and members of the BES team, including coaches who support Fellows in school design, governance, and finance and operations. Our panelists will share insights on the Fellowship journey, what candidates can expect from the four- or five-year process, and the qualities that make a strong candidate. The BES Talent & Recruitment team will also share practical tips for building a compelling resume and communicating your experience effectively.

During this in-person experience, you will have the opportunity to:
- Tour a BES Fellow-founded school (The Anchor School) and hear directly from the founder (Josh Pinto Taylor) about the Fellowship journey and how this vision came to life.
- Learn more about how you can design, found, and lead a high-quality public school through the BES Fellowship.
- Participate in a hands-on “School Design Lab” experience where you’ll collaborate with other aspiring school founders and share ideas on models that respond to the needs of your community.
- Engage in a “Leadership Under Pressure” challenge to assess your leadership decision-making.
- Meet the BES team, ask questions, and explore next steps to apply for the BES Fellowship.
