As Director of Culture and Community, Ali (she/her/hers) works on systems and strategies to ensure the team feels valued, is productive, and has the resources and support they need. She ensures that BES’s mission and values are front and center of internal communications and staff events, and works to ensure BES is meeting its anti-racist and DEI goals. She works closely with the Leadership Team, the Board of Directors, and internal teams to support the work of everyone in the office.
Prior to joining BES, Ali worked at The Rose Kennedy Greenway, the United Nations Association of Greater Boston, and Liberty Mutual in administration, development, and program management roles. She holds a master’s in Environmental Conservation from the University of Wisconsin – Madison, and a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Wheaton College. She is a board member at The Friends School of Portland (ME). An outdoor enthusiast, Ali spends her free time walking – from strolls in her neighborhood forest to hiking the peaks in the White Mountains to trekking across the Scottish highlands – and renovating her old house.
