Prior to joining BES, Ashley Martin was the Senior Director of Strategic District Consulting with New Leaders, where her work focused on systems level leadership, system transformation, and leading a pre-incubator program for New Leader Alumni called the Exploring New School Models. Previously, Ashley served as a School Principal with Oakland Unified School District (California) and Hartford Public Schools (Connecticut).
For nearly two decades, Ashley has been a committed urban educator and leader. She firmly believes in the growth mindset, emphasizing that all students can learn and that educators are responsible for maximizing their growth and helping them achieve their goals. Driven by a passion to close the achievement and opportunity gaps, Ashley is dedicated to ensuring that every student, regardless of their circumstances, graduates equipped for success in college and their future careers. She holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Master’s in Urban Educational Leadership from Reach University (Oakland, CA).
