Jonathan Chaparro is the Executive Director of Innovation & Head of Chicago for Braven. Jonathan is dedicated to empowering First Gen/Pell Grant college students by creating pathways from college to impactful careers. Jonathan’s career encompasses launching and scaling new initiatives across sectors, including talent, marketing, and community engagement roles at Teach For America, Noble Schools, ArcelorMittal, and McKinsey & Company.
Jonathan is a 2024 Notable Latino Leader by Crain’s Chicago Business, a 2023 Northwestern-Kellogg Youn Impact Leader, a 2020 Chicago Council on Global Affairs Emerging Leader, and a 2017 Surge Institute Fellow. Jonathan holds an MBA from Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management, a master’s in teaching from Dominican University, and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Iowa. He serves on the board of directors for the Chicago Artists Coalition. He is also on the steering committee for the Chicago Community Trust’s Nuestro Futuro affinity fund – the largest affinity fund in the nation dedicated to Latino philanthropy. He previously sat on the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago Advisory Council on Small Business, Community and Economic Development, Agriculture, and Labor.
