As Senior Director of Talent and Recruitment for BES, Kriss Deas leads internal hiring and selection for the Fellowship. She works closely with the rest of the Talent and Recruitment team to inform the organization’s national recruitment and selection strategy.
Prior to joining BES, Kriss began her career as a high school science teacher in Atlanta, GA. Most recently Kriss was a Senior Manager in TNTP’s Talent and Culture department where she was responsible for overseeing the recruitment, selection, and onboarding for TNTP’s signature Bridge Fellows program. During her ten years at TNTP, Kriss also worked on the Client Team where she supported teacher recruitment and cultivation strategies for high-needs school districts.
Kriss holds a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology and a Master of Arts in Teaching in Science Education from Georgia State University. Outside of work, Kriss enjoys spending time with her husband and two children in the Atlanta area. She loves participating in team sports, engaging in child-oriented community service activities, and empowering others through financial literacy.
